RE-GENERATION OF THE LISS RBL WOMENS SECTION
Many of you might be aware that not many years ago the RBL in Liss had a very successful and thriving Women’s Section. Sadly the section ceased to operate and the standard laid up.
From initial enquiries a number of women have expressed an interest in discussing the possibility of reforming the women’s section. This will depend on a number of factors, namely getting sufficient interest to reform the branch women’s section and enough women willing to serve as members of the committee i.e. Chairwomen, Treasurer and Secretary.
I spoke with the National Treasurer for the RBL Women’s Section (Miss Sandra Fishlock) at the County Conference on the 17th January. She provided some brochures and is investigating what happened to the Liss Women’s Section Standard. She has offered to come to Liss and speak with those who might be interested in reforming the branch.
If there is not sufficient interest the idea will go no further which I think will be a great shame as in my opinion a RBL Club is strengthened with a Women’s Section being an integral part of the organisation.
A list for those who may be interested is posted near the bar in the club and I would encourage you all to think seriously about the benefits of being part of the organisation and what it would bring to you and our Community. Please sign up to see how you could be involved.
