We will be hosting a quiz night on Tuesday the 27th August!
It will be £2 entry and max of 6 people on a team.

The 80th Anniversary of D-Day will be commemorated by the Liss Branch of the Royal British Legion with the raising of the Union Flag at the RBL Club in Rake Road at 09:00 on Thursday, the 6th of June. The first seaborne troops were landing in Normandy at this time, with the very first unit ashore being the 1st Battalion of the Hampshire Regiment. Earlier Airborne Forces had landed, among them was a Liss man, Gunner Alec Bicknell RA, HQ 6 Airborne Division, who was killed on D-Day, and is one of the 32 WW2 names on the Liss Memorial. Later at 1100, at the War Memorial we will gather for the Last Post, silence, laying of a wreath and short service.
All are welcome to attend.

10:45 RBL Chairman, Standard Bearer and Bugler assemble at RBL Club
10:50 Wreath Layer, Standard Bearer and Bugler proceed to Memorial
10:55 Parade assembled at War Memorial and introduction given
10:59 Exhortation (20s) Last Post (60s)
11:00 Silence
11:02 Reveille then Kohima Epitaph
11:03 Laying of Wreath
11:05 Prayers led by the Padre (Rev Peter Coley)
11:10 Thanks for Attendance & Dispersal
